Word Goingaway Party Invitations

Writing a going-away party invitation is easy.

If you have a friend who is finally going on a long-planned trip or one who is moving to a new city for a challenging new career, throw him a going-away party. It doesn't matter if the reason for the party is bittersweet or joyous; these parties mark a milestone in your friend's life, and you should celebrate. Begin by composing the invitation, and remember that it does more than give guests information about the party: It also sets the tone for the festivities. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Begin the invitation with the honoree's name and the reason for the party. For example, write, "Harold leaves on his African safari next week" or "Shari is moving to Tulsa next month."

2. Invite the guests to participate in the celebration. For example, write, "Come wish Harold Bon Voyage" or "Say 'Farewell' to Shari before she starts a new life."

3. Describe the party. Include information about food, attire and guest expectations. For example, write, "We will serve cocktails and hors d'oeuvres poolside" or "Bring your own bottle and a snack to share."

4. Include information on the time and location of the party. Make sure to tell the guests whether children are invited or discouraged.

5. Ask guests to RSVP and provide a phone number and e-mail address.
