Stream Traditional Hawaiian Music

Play Hawaiian music by creating a free radio station online.

Many Internet radio websites operate as a free service. Accessible through personal computers and smartphones, these websites generate radio stations based on the user's musical preferences. Such a website can be customized to draw from thousands of songs in a music database. Fans of Hawaiian music, for example, can create radio stations that primarily play songs in that genre. Register on one of these sites and create a radio station that satisfies your craving for the music of the islands.

Instructions

1. Access a free Internet radio website (see Resources). Several websites stream music online and on web-enabled smartphones.

2. Register with the website. Select the "Register" link on the home page of the online radio service's website. Enter your information into the spaces provided, including your email address, age, name and ZIP code. Click "Enter" to complete the registration.

3. Create your own radio station. Most internet radio sites will automatically redirect you to their station creation page. If not, select "Create Station" or something similar; the link should be located on the side of the radio player.

4. Enter the names of Hawaiian-related artists or genres. In the space provided, simply enter "Hawaiian" to create a radio station with Hawaiian folk music. Alternatively, you can enter specific Hawaiian artists to hear only music from them and related musical acts. Select "Go," "Start" or something similar to begin streaming Hawaiian music.
