Make Birthday Invitations

A variety of birthday invitations is available today, including ones highlighting movies, TV shows and cartoons. If your party's theme is a little less conventional, however, you may have difficulty finding ready-made invitations. Or maybe you are the creative type, who prefers to make more customized birthday invitations. Whatever the reason, making birthday invitations is a simple process. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Open up a design program, such as Microsoft Publisher, on your computer. Select the template for invitations. Or if you do not have such a design program or do not want to take the time to design your own invitation, you can download free birthday invitation templates online.

2. Have a design in mind. Typical party invitations are small, so space is limited. Think about where to place graphics on the invitation and how much text to include.

3. Add graphics. Pick an eye-catching image to capture attention. Stick with the party theme. For example, if you are having a Star Wars party use Darth Vader or Chewbacca.

4. Include all key information. Guests need to know the name of the person having the party, the date, time and location. If the event is at an unfamiliar site, include simple directions and a map.

5. Print the invitations on card stock. Card stock is a heavier grade of paper and holds up well, making it ideal for invitations.
