A popular summer game at most picnics is the water balloon toss. You fill colorful balloons with water and then stand facing your partner, throwing and catching the water balloon in turn until it breaks. If your partner catches the balloon, you take a step back and start again. Here are steps to help you win a water balloon toss.
Instructions
1. Take your time when you begin the game. There is usually no time limit in the water balloon toss game so you can concentrate on how you should throw your balloon to keep it from popping so you can win the game.
2. Step and lean your body forwards while extending your arms in front of you to throw the balloon. This should be a flowing motion so that one action follows the next. This will put you and your partner a little closer so that the balloon will have less space to travel.
3. Feel the weight of the water in the balloon. Throw the balloon with as little force as possible. The harder you throw the balloon, the higher the risk of it breaking. Make sure you throw the balloon softly yet hard enough so that it will be able to reach your partner. Each balloon will be different.
4. Pick a partner who can catch. It wouldn't be good if the person you are playing with is scared to catch a balloon full of water because they are scared that the balloon will break. A confident partner will be better if you want to win.
5. Catch the balloon in between your arms and your chest. When the balloons are coming closer, lean into the path of the balloon and place your arms in front of your chest creating a cradle of sorts. Try to give as much of a cushion as you possible can.
6. Repeat Steps 1 through 5 until you win.
