Let a retiree know he is not going off alone.
Friends and family gather for a retirement to try to communicate to the new retiree their pride, their wishes for healthy and happy retirement years, and their understanding. Let your thoughts and wishes begin to reverberate with the invitations to the party. Incorporate the individual's profession. Select words with humor and/or inspiration. Write your own warm invitation phrases or turn to the poets and thinkers who have paved the way just for you.
Instructions
1. Write an inspirational or humorous introduction. Inspire the celebrant and guests with the words like Rudyard Kipling's "The Jungle Book," cited on the website, Retirement Quotes. "I keep six honest serving-men (They taught me all I knew); Their names are What and Why and When And How and Where and Who."
2. Refer to the retiree's profession. Inform invitees that the party is a celebration of a person's success in her profession. Write, for instance, if the person is a teacher, "(Name) led so many to fruitful professional lives. The time has come to applaud her tireless and joyful service as an educator, a selfless guide to her students and to her colleagues." You can add a brief quote from a former student.
3. Provide all relevant retirement party information. Include the day, date, time and location of the party. Ask guests to RSVP in a timely manner.
