Instructions

Make Waterfalls for Cakes

1. Make 3 round cakes using the 3 different sized cake pans. Allow the cakes to cool. Place the 10-inch cake on the tray or cake pan. Make sure you place the cake on the plate or tray you plan to serve it on, because it will be difficult to move once it is assembled.

2. Ice the top and sides of the bottom 10-inch layer, then place the 8-inch cake on top and cover it in frosting as well. Finally, place the 6-inch layer on top and frost the top and sides.

3. Roll the blue fondant into a long, rectangular strip. The rectangle must be long enough to start at the top layer and "flow" down each layer, pooling at the bottom. Gather the top of the fondant, and carefully lift the fondant off of the counter and lay the gathered portion on the center of the top cake. Drape the fondant down the side of the cake, allowing it to bubble and wrinkle so that it looks like real water. Let the fondant pool at the bottom of the cake, and cut off any excess.

4. Use a paintbrush to apply silver pearl dust in streaks down the blue fondant so that it looks like flowing water. Decorate the rest of the cake with flowers, palm trees or animals for a themed waterfall cake.
