Play Against Someone Online With A Wii

The Nintendo Wii, much like other home gaming consoles of the seventh generation, has the ability to connect to other Wiis through the Internet to play online games against each other. For two people to play an online game together, they must have each other registered in their Wii's Address Book. Most online games for the Wii will refer to the address book when connecting your Wii to a friend's.

Instructions

1. Turn your Wii on. Select the "Wii Message Board" option in the Wii's main menu. This option will be located on the lower-right corner of the screen.

2. Select the "Create Message" icon in the Wii Message Board menu. This icon will look like a pencil and paper.

3. Select the "Address Book" icon in the Create Message menu, then select the "Register" icon when in the Address Book menu.

4. Select the "Wii" option in the next menu, then enter your friend's Wii number and the name of your friend.

5. Make sure your friend registers you on his Wii using your Wii number. To find your Wii number, turn to the first page in your Wii address book.

6. Insert an online-ready Wii game into your Wii. When you select an online option, you should be able to choose your friend's Wii for online play.
