Create a teen-themed party.
Theme parties aren't just for young children. There are many themes you can use for a teen's birthday party or graduation: a pool party, rock-star party, sports party, era party, movie party or video game party. Pick a theme that suits your child's personality and interests. If it won't be a surprise party, ask your teenager to choose the theme. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Choose decorations that are attractive for your teenager. Don't use decorations that are childish or too far off the theme of the party. A disco ball for a disco-themed party would be an appropriate decoration. A rock-star party needs a red carpet guests enter on.
2. Prepare foods that complement the theme instead in addition to decorated plates or napkins. For example, make football-shaped sandwiches for a sport-themed party.
3. Plan teen-appropriate activities. Music with dancing during a teen-themed party encourages teens to interact. Control the intensity of the party with proper song choices.
4. Have a cake made in honor of the person instead of the theme. A picture cake with symbols of accomplishments is more personal than a regular sheet cake.
