Troubleshoot Pogo

Pogo.com is an online service that allows you to play a variety of games within your Web browser. Pogo offers users the chance to play crossword puzzles and word games as well as card games and virtual versions of board games, like Scrabble. Pogo uses a technology called Java to run these games from your browser. If you're having problems with Pogo.com you can troubleshoot the problem by taking a look at your settings. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Go to the Java website and download and install the latest version of the Java software. Java is a free download available on its official site -- just click the "Download" button to download the appropriate file. Double-click the file to install the new version. Restart your Web browser to allow the Java update to take effect and try playing your Pogo games again.

2. Use the "Windows Update" function of your computer to update Internet Explorer to version 8 (if applicable). If you're running Windows 7 and Internet Explorer version 7 you are running a browser that is incompatible with Java and Pogo.com. Click "Start" and "All Programs" and select the "Windows Update" feature to update Internet Explorer to a compatible version.

3. Clear your Web browser's cache, reboot your browser and try to access your Pogo.com games again. Click "Tools" and "Internet Options" if you're using Internet Explorer, and delete the cookies and cache from your browser. Click "Tools" and "Clear Recent History" if you're using Mozilla Firefox to accomplish the same thing. Erroneous cache or cookie files could potentially disable your ability to play Pogo games and deleting these files will correct the problem.
