Ideas For Baby Sesame Street Centerpieces

Use a baby Sesame Street centerpiece to help complete the party decoration theme.

Many young children adore the Sesame Street characters that help them learn letters and numbers. The baby Sesame Street characters make an appropriate theme for a child's first birthday party. There is a wide selection of baby Sesame Street party decoration supplies available. Add a centerpiece featuring the baby Sesame Street characters to help complete decorations for the party. Does this Spark an idea?

Plush Toy Centerpiece

Create a baby Sesame Street centerpiece by finding plush toys of a few of the Sesame Street characters, such as Elmo, Cookie Monster and Big Bird. If you can't find the baby characters, place a diaper on the regular characters. Select a plush toy size that will allow you to fit them all on your table. Blow up a balloon to tie to each plush toy's arm. If the plush toy is large enough, you may even add a party hat to its head. Your child can make use of these plush toys for play after the party, too.

Balloon Centerpiece

Create a bouquet of balloons as a centerpiece. Take a blown Baby Sesame Street Mylar balloon to serve as the center of the bouquet and attach 10 more plain-colored latex balloons to the bouquet. Position the latex balloons lower than the Mylar balloon and arrange it so that they surround the bottom of the Mylar balloon. Tie the ribbons holding the balloons to a heavy weight, such as a jar filled with rocks or marbles.

Wood Panel Centerpiece

Purchase a centerpiece made out of wood panel displaying a Baby Sesame Street character at online stores such as Etsy (see Resources). Select Cookie Monster, Elmo or Big Bird. Each character appears in a diaper. The centerpiece is hand painted and stands 11.5 inches tall. To support standing, the back of each centerpiece is attached to a cube filled with colorful tissue paper to appear similar to a bloom of flowers. These centerpieces can continue to serve as decorative display in your child's bedroom after the party.

Pull-String Pinata

Purchase a pull-string pinata covered with Baby Sesame Street-themed decorations to serve as a tabletop centerpiece from stores such as Art Fire (see Resources). The product measures 20 inches high and 13 inches wide. Create a game out of the centerpiece that comes with 25 pull strings to see which child pulls the string that breaks open the pinata filled with candy and toys. Insert candy and toys into the top of the pinata. If you do not want a pinata, it can stand alone as a decorative centerpiece.
