Kids Party Bags Ideas

Give unique goody bags at your child's next birthday party.

Party bags, or goody bags, are usually given out at the end of children's parties. They typically hold small toys, candy or treats, and many parents try to tie the party them in to the goody bag contents. If you are planning a kids' party and want to create memorable party bags, think outside the cellophane and customize your party bags to fit the interests of the guests. Does this Spark an idea?

Girl Party Bags

When creating party bags for little girls, include feminine-themed items. For example, many girls would love to receive a princess party bag, full of princess stickers, glitter lip gloss, sparkling hair bands and bubble bath. During the warmer seasons, give girl party guests little bags filled with flower lollipops and garden seeds. If the party has a magical, fairy tale theme, give the girls mini unicorns and glow-in-the-dark moon and star stickers.

Boy Party Bags

Boy party bags should usually include activity favors. For example, most little boys would love to receive small action figures or toy cars in their goody bags. Give boys unique gummy candy, such as gummy worms, spiders and fish. If it's a sports-themed party, give the boys personalized water bottles or sports drinks, along with a whistle. Jump ropes and trading cards also are cost-efficient party favors that most boys enjoy.

Unisex Party Bags

At a unisex kids' party, you'll want to give the children similar party bags. This will save you time and money when purchasing items in bulk, as well as putting the bags together. One way to save even more time is to put out a "treasure chest" full of chocolate coins, beads and other party favors. Instruct the children to take their empty bags and choose a specific number of treats for themselves. If you want to create pre-made party bags, give both girls and boys small crayons, puzzles or picture frames.

Bag Alternatives

If you would like to give an alternative to goody bags in general, you have several types of items to choose from. Use the theme of the party to create burned CDs or DVDs. For example, if the party theme is a particular movie, give copies of the movie soundtrack to guests. Other non-conventional goody bags include the actual party bag container as a part of the treat. Give teacups full of candy to girls at a tea party. Give straw cowboy hats or bandanas full of plastic cowboy figurines to boys at a western party.
