Indian Restaurants In Hawaii

Indian food is an option in Hawaii.


Hawaii is known for its mix of cultures, from native Hawaiian, to South Pacific to Chinese to Indian. This last group offers a number of restaurants across the archipelago serving classics like curry and naan bread. Most are located in the capital, Honolulu, but one good spot is in Maui. India Cafe


According to the Honolulu Star-Bulletin, this restaurant's "dishes burst with spicy,


sweet temptation." A casual restaurant where food comes in huge portions, the cafe has received several accolades for best Indian food in the area. Recommended dishes include the vegetarian marsala dosai and the lamb marsala.

Komala Curry House


Owned and operated by Lata Kumar for more than a decade, this restaurant serves up Indian favorites. Specialties include lamb curry, mung bean salad, and a variety of vegetarian choices served buffet style. As the restaurant is closed for dinner it is popular among office workers as a lunch option.

Monsoon India


This elegant restaurant is the only Indian dining choice on Maui and looks out over the water. Start with a pakora or samosa and move on to delicacies like shrimp biriyani or fish tikka. As with most Indian restaurants, there are plenty of vegetarian choices. The restaurant has a special with a selection of vegetarian or chicken main dish, lentils, salad, rice and naan for $12.95, as of 2010.
