Ideas For A 2 Year Old Birthday Party In February

Don't forget the party favors.

A child only turns two once. Making the birthday for a two year old a memorable event is an important milestone for any parent. If the date of the birthday party falls in the middle of a snowy February, that can make selecting the style of celebration even harder. There are indoor options a parent may consider. Does this Spark an idea?

Children's Gym

Toddlers get a chance to dance and play at this style of party.

The local Gymboree, Little Gym or similar places are able to host a party for two year olds. The store will provide a party host to lead the children through a myriad of age appropriate activities. This will allow the children to interact with one another and enjoy themselves in a semistructured environment.

Bounce House

Bounce houses often have a variety of inflatables, including slides and tunnels.

Bounce houses, such as BounceU or Jump!zone, allow for the energy of a two year old to be expressed in an active but unstructured environment. Children still are able to interact and play with one another, but with minimal guidance, leaving them free to express their energy. A party host will help with the food and presents portion of the party, leaving the children free to explore the bounce house.

Pizza Parlor

The pizza will be provided!

A local pizza parlor, such as Chuck E. Cheese, will allow children and parents to play games and ride rides. Children are normally given tokens and allowed to wander the pizza parlor Keep in mind that a two year old may need guidance on work the rides and games.

In the home

Hosting the birthday party in the home of the child allows the parents to control the events that occur during the party and manage the time of the children. The parents can pick a theme such as jungle animals, or whatever the birthday child is most interested in. The toddlers can play some simple games, such as "Simon Says" or singing songs like "The Wheels on the Bus." It is advisable to have the children sit at a table together to eat cake or meals, as a buffet style may be confusing to young children.
