Stencil palm trees onto your beach invitation card.
Make your own beach invitation and set the tone of your event at a glance. Design the cards to reflect the theme of your party, such as senior skip day with surfboards, a birthday candle shaped like a palm tree or a family reunion luau with a volleyball net. Pick bright colors and a playful font for a casual event, like a beach bonfire, while a more formal event, such as a beach wedding may require an ivory cardstock with a script font. Instructions
1. Discuss the theme choice with others, such as the groom for a wedding or a child for a birthday. Review the color choices for card stock and ink, the shape of the invitation and the details for the event. Pick the style of the font, if printing from your computer, and the embellishments for the invitation, such as glitter or beach decals. Cut out items such as seashells, surfboards, canoes or palm trees for other types of embellishments..
2. Examine the cardstock for the invitation. Match the color to your theme and feel the stock between your fingers to determine the thickness. Pick a thick, 14-lb. cardstock that is sturdy and does not droop when you hold it. Buy a square two-page card for a more traditional look or save money with a one-page horizontal card that gives you two cards for each one of the traditional invitation.
3. Prepare the card. Fold the cardstock in half along the perforated edge. Press down and slide your hand down to push in the fold for a two-page card. Cut down the fold to make two one-page cards.
4. Design the card. Stamp a seashell border on the front page of the card. Stencil a palm tree inside the border. Outline it in black ink before filling it in with brown and green paint pens. Group several stamped seashells inside on the second page by the bottom corner.
5. Print the details on the card large enough to read. Include items, such as the type of event, date and time of the event, address and R.S.V.P date. Add information for clothing or swimming attire, if applicable.
