Inexpensive Kid'S Birthday Party Games

Inexpensive Kid's Birthday Party Games

Creating a birthday party that's fun for your child doesn't have to involve spending a lot of money. Sometimes playing inexpensive birthday party games will provide more fun for your children than renting out a restaurant for their birthday party. Catch the balloon, water relay races and red light, green light are just a few inexpensive games you can play at your child's birthday party. Does this Spark an idea?

Catch The Balloon

The catch the balloon birthday party game is played indoors and requires three or four balloons according to Amazing Moms. Tell children to sit in a circle on the floor and give each of them a number. The child with the highest number sits in the middle of the circle with the balloon in her hand. The child then calls out the number of another child and throws the balloon up in the air. The child whose number was called must try to catch the balloon before it hits the ground. The child that was originally in the center takes the place of the child whose number was called.

Water Relay Race

Having a water relay race is an inexpensive kids birthday party game that is perfect for summer months, according to Amazing Moms. For this water relay race you will need one bucket of water per team, one large sponge per team and one empty plastic milk jug per team. Place the buckets of water next to the sponges and the milk jug at the opposite end of your course. Teams should try to fill the milk jug with water as quickly as possible. The children dip the sponge in the bucket of water and run to the milk jug, squeezing the water out when they get there. Have each team take turns running from end to end. The team that fills the milk jug up completely wins.

Red Light, Green Light

Red light, green light is a game that you can play at a child's birthday party without spending any money at all. Every child except one lines up in a line, according to Games Kids Play. One child stands 15 feet away from the other children. This child turns his back to the other children and says "green light." The other children then walk toward the child that called "green light." When the child yells "red light" he turns around and if any of the other children are moving when he turns around, they are out. The object is to reach the child who is calling out the commands without getting caught moving.
