Move To Kauai Hawaii

The northern side of Kauai is known for waterfalls.

Moving can be a challenging endeavor for anyone, especially when moving from the mainland to Kauai, one of the Hawaiian islands. Kauai is known as the Garden Island, having lush greenery and beaches on every side. Employment opportunities in the service and food industries are especially prominent on Kauai.

Instructions

1. Determine which part of the island you want to live on based on your personal preference. The western and southern ends are generally the hottest, while the northern shore tends to rain more often than other parts. The northern shore also has more consistent temperatures, rarely being too hot or too cool. The southern shore is best known for its oceanside real estate.

2. Rent an apartment for a couple months in Kauai if you can't decide which part of the island you prefer. Move from one side to another to get a feel for the island. See a real estate broker on Kauai for details about housing. Also consider employment on the island, most of which is located on the east side near the town center of Lihue.

3. Purchase furnishings and other items if your place is unfurnished. Buy these furnishings and items in Kauai to avoid expensive shipping fees. Look for estate sale deals on the island, which could lower the expenses of furnishings considerably.

4. Ship your car in from the mainland. Shipping costs about $1,000, which is a consideration if your car runs well. Otherwise, buy a car on the island. Acquire a Hawaiian driver's license at the Department of Motor Vehicles in Lihue.
