Make Party Invitations On Photoshop 7 0

Break out the balloons, you're throwing a party.

When you’re throwing the most exciting party of the year, generic store-bought invitations just won’t do. Instead, create your own personalized party invitations using your computer’s Photoshop 7.0. Photoshop, a graphics software program now part of the Adobe Creative Suite, comes with enough tools, filters and options to really get your party started.

Instructions

1. Open Photoshop 7.0, pull down the "File" menu and click "New." Name the file "PartyInvite." Set your preferred invitation size, such as 4 x 6 inches, and click the "OK" button. Pull down the "View" menu and click "Fit on Screen" to give you the most amount of room to work.

2. Click the "Type" tool, which looks like a "T" on the "Tools" palette on the left side of the screen. Use the text toolbar at the top of the screen to select the invitation font, size and color.

3. Position your cursor over the "PartyInvite" box and click, then type the invitation information such as the date, time, theme, what to bring or wear-and information about the guest of honor.

4. Increase your text size, change color and click at the bottom or top of the invitation and add a headline such as "It’s a Party!" or "You’re Invited!"

5. Double-click the top left square of the "Color Picker," which is the two overlapping colored boxes on the "Tools" palette. Select a balloon color and click "OK." Click the "Paintbrush" tool, pull down the "Brush" head and select a small round brush head such as #9.

6. Draw the outline of a balloon on the invitation. Click the "Paint Bucket" tool and click inside the balloon, which fills with the color. Switch back to the "Paintbrush" tool, select brush head #1 and choose a black or gray paint color. Draw the balloon’s string. Repeat this process to add more colored balloons to the invitation.

7. Click the "Background" layer on the "Layers" palette on the right side of the screen to give the invitation a colorful, eye-catching background. This gives that layer focus. Click the "Paint Bucket" tool and pull down the "Fill" menu at the top of the screen.

8. Select the "Pattern" option and click inside the "Pattern" box. Choose a pattern from the options, such as bubbles or checkerboard. Slide the "Opacity" bar down to 25 percent. Click inside the white space of the "PartyInvite," which fills with color behind your text and graphics.

9. Click the right-pointing triangle in a circle at the top of the "Layers" palette. Select "Flatten Image." Pull down the "File" menu and select "Save As." Set a destination for the invitation on your computer such as your desktop, and click the "Save" button.
