Wedding Invitation Card Sample
Make exquisite wedding invitation cards for a fraction of the price of having a wedding shop create them. Being frugal is not only necessary these days, it's trendy. Your guests will be impressed when you say, I made them myself, because until you tell them, they'll never guess!
Instructions
1. Open MS Publisher (I'm using the 2007 version)
2. In the task pane on the left, click on Invitation Cards. Microsoft Office Online Templates link appears. Click on View templates from Microsoft Office Online.
3. Click on Wedding Invitations.
4. From the Wedding Invitations, choose your favorite. For this illustration, I'm using "Renaissance." A template will appear indicating what information to include on your invitation. Type in the proper information (bride's parents, bride, groom, etc.).
5. On the Format Publication pane on the left, choose a color scheme that compliments your wedding colors. I used "cranberry," but there are many others just as nice.
6. On the Format Publication pane on the left, choose Publication Options, then click on Change Page Size, and a Page Set Up window will open. Scroll down to Booklets and choose 1/2 Letter Booklet - 5.5 x 8.5". This will allow you to print two invitations on one piece of paper oriented as Landscape.
7. Save your publication to your hard drive. You need to make a choice now whether you want to do the printing and cutting, or whether you want to take the invitation card you've created to an office store such as Staples.
8. If you decide to print the invitations yourself, load the paper in your printer (I've suggested using either 25% Cotton Paper or White Cover Stock, which is twice as heavy), and go to work. You'll either need to set up your printer to print 2 copies on a page, or you'll need to feed the paper through twice. Once you've printed two invitations on the page, use a paper cutter to complete the task.
9. If you decide to have an office store print and cut the invitations for you, copy your publication onto a writable CD or flash drive so it's easy to transport. Either way, you'll love the results and save lots of money!
