Limbo
Limbo asks just one question: How low can you go? Clear an area large enough for a limbo stick, about 4 feet long. Leave room for guests to gather. Play Hawaiian or Caribbean music. Reggae, ska or even Jimmy Buffet will do. The game is simple. Two people hold each end of the stick. Begin with the stick raised high enough for a contestant to easily pass beneath without touching it. Each person passes beneath the stick by bending backward at the knees. With each successful pass, lower the stick. See who can go the lowest.
Mai Tai Limbo
The limbo is all the more engaging and hilarious when you add Mai Tais to the game. Traditional Hawaiian drinks, Mai Tais are made with rum, lime and orange juice, sugar syrup and orange liquor. Pass around tequila glasses filled with Mai Tais. Before guests pass beneath the limbo stick, they sip from the glass. Guests must hold their glasses upright as they navigate under the limbo rod. Guests who spill their drink lose, and the guest who goes the lowest wins.
Blind Lei Game
Adult couples can play the Blind Lei Me Game. Blindfold one person in each couple. Meanwhile, partners circle the blindfolded players. Each blindfolded player wears a Hawaiian lei (a necklace of fresh flowers). Without help from partners, blindfolded players roam within the circle to find their partners. When contestants thinks they have found their partners, they place their leis over the person's head. This is called "getting leid." The game end when all of the partners have been "leid." Guests lift their blindfolds to see if they chose the right person.
Costumes
Invite guests to wear Hawaiian costumes. With little grass skirts and Hawaiian tribal royalty wandering through the night, select, by ovation, the best costume of the night. The winner receives a CD of Hawaiian music or is given a lei by a beautiful island girl. Hold a hula contest and require the contestants to wear grass skirts. Pit the boys against the girls. Whoever can hula longest wins.
