Kids' Valentine'S Party Games

Valentine's Day games for kids.

Whether you are a teacher or a parent hosting a Valentine's Day party for your child, you need to plan a few activities to keep the kids involved. Make sure to plan games that are Valentine related. There are many games for kids to play on or around Valentine's Day. You can use these games for kids aging from 8-14.

Stacking Heart Challenge

Buy about two bags of conversational candy hearts. Pass out several of the candies to the kids. Set a timer for 30 seconds. The object of the game is to see who can make the biggest tower of hearts in the allotted time. When the 30 seconds are up, count the hearts to see who has the tallest tower. The winner gets a prize.

Heart Hop Racing

Divide the kids into two teams. Give each team a balloon in the shape of a heart. When you say "go," a member of each team must hop to the end of the room with the balloon between his legs and back. Then he gives the balloon to the next team member who does the same thing and passes the balloon off to the next girl. Whichever team finishes first, with all members hopping to the end of the room and back with a balloon between their legs, wins the game. Give the winning team a candy prize.

Valentine Pictionary

This game is basically Pictionary with Valentine words. On small pieces of paper, write different words relating to Valentine's Day. You can write things like "candy," "love," "rose," to give a few examples. Put the words into a bowl or hat. Divide the kids into teams of about 4-6 kids per team. Each team will try to guess what a teammate is drawing. Whichever team guesses first will get a point. Do this several times with different members drawing. The team with the most points will win a prize.

Guess the Number of Candies

Fill a Valentine's decorated jar with M&Ms, jelly beans, or conversational hearts. Make sure to count the candies as you fill the jar. Have the kids write down how many candies they think are in the jar. Whoever guesses closest to the actual amount wins the jar of candy.
