Whether you are a single adult of the Church of Latter Day Saint (LDS) new to the Boise area and want to meet other LDS single adults or on the planning committee for your ward or stake and need ideas for activities, the Boise area offers many opportunities for enjoyable activities and service projects.
BSU Singles
Boise State University (BSU) has wards and a stake for single adults ages 19 to 31. Each ward has activities like weekly family home evenings and ward dinners. A "linger-longer" is a great time to visit with members in your ward after Sunday meetings and have refreshments. The BSU stake also has stake activities, like firesides, where a guest speaker presents a spiritual message. The BSU LDS Institute has dances where you can meet other people your age.
Over 31
Some activities are designed for singles adults over 31. You can call a hotline to get a list of activities in the Boise area. The hotline provides the time the activity starts and directions to its location. It also lets you know if you need to bring anything. You can also post your ward or stake activity on this hotline for others to learn about. Some of these activities including monthly firesides, dances and dinners.
Summer Activities
A service project for the early summer could be "Paint the Town." Get a group together and help paint the house of a disabled individual or senior citizen. A potluck BBQ and a game of croquet at a local park or at someone's house are other ideas for summer activities. Other ideas include hiking in the foothills, Frisbee golf or movie night at Julie Davis Park, water skiing at Lucky Dam or floating the Boise River.
Winter Activities
Winter activities may include a service project called "Rake Up Boise" that involves raking leaves in the yard of a disabled individual or senior citizen. Watching a BSU football game at someone's house, skiing at Bogus, bowling and a game night at a local church building are more possible activities. More ideas include being a Secret Santa, playing basketball or going to a dollar movie.
