Idea for a Tropical Bedroom for a Teen

Walls
For a teen's tropical bedroom, paint the walls in white or beige, or for a brighter room, try aqua, sea green or sky blue. If you want to spend a little more money, cover the walls in a tropical-print wall paper or in natural-fiber wallpaper such as grasscloth.
Bedding
Cover your teen's bed in surf-, tropical- and hawaiian-print bedding. If you can't find bedding with these prints, choose colors that remind you of the beach such as hues of light blue, sea green, orange and yellow and mix and match bedding and pillow cases. Instead of a bedskirt, try using a raffia grass bedskirt instead.
Furniture
Furniture that would go well in your teen's tropical bedroom are those made of bamboo or painted white. Wicker furniture also works well for a tropical feel as well as using distressed furniture. A four-poster bed with sheer drapes is also ideal in a teen's tropical bedroom.
Accessories
Fill the room with accessories and decorate the walls with vintage tropical posters. Hang or prop a surfboard on the wall or even install one as a shelf using wall brackets. Hang a lamp or decorative mobile made of seashells. Fill a glass container with shells, place a potted palm in the corner of the room and even hang a string of tiki lights around the room.
