Low Cost Centerpiece Ideas

Centerpieces need not cost an arm and a leg to look elegant. There are several ways to put together low cost centerpieces that will impress friends and family and never give away the fact that you didn't have to spend big bucks for it. The satisfaction won't just be in the money saved, but in the beauty of your handy work. Does this Spark an idea?

Seasonal Centerpieces

Holidays and certain seasons make arranging low cost centerpieces a breeze. During the winter holidays ornaments make pretty centerpieces without incurring extra expense. For instance, a bowl filled with glass balls and overflowing with a strand of beaded garland is an elegant touch you can use from December through January.

Rather than hide your fruit away in the refrigerator or on the kitchen counter, display it in the dining room in a wicker basket lined with a favorite heirloom embroidered towel or handkerchief. It makes a delightful autumn arrangement.

If you love fresh flowers, but are concerned with the cost, pick up a bouquet in the check out line of your local grocer. These bouquets normally run less than $6 and you can give them a fresh look when you put them in a favorite vase and center it on your table.

Candles

Arrange different sized candles on an inexpensive charger that you can pick up at most craft stores for just a few dollars. The candles don't have to be new. Instead, you can pull from various rooms in your home to create an eclectic mix of sizes to put on your table. Drape a decorative scarf or costume jewelry in between the candles to complete your centerpiece.

Sentimental Pieces

If you are married you are probably not so different from most couples when it comes to your wedding memorabilia. You probably have tucked your toasting goblets away in a box in the attic or remember they are collecting dust in a curio cabinet somewhere. Pull them out and use them to create a sentimental centerpiece you will treasure. Fill the glasses with faux pearls that spill out over the rims of the glasses for a dramatic effect. Perhaps you are single and don't have a pair of wedding goblets. No worries, since any pair of champagne glasses will suffice for this type of centerpiece.
