Instructions

1. Brainstorm ideas for the baby shower invites by discussing a party theme with the guest of honor. You can also get baby shower invitations ideas by browsing at a stationery shop, pulling the theme from the nursery decorations or the mother-to-be's favorite colors and flowers, for example.

2. Buy blank cards and matching envelopes that in a base color that will suit the theme and embellishments you plan to use on the baby shower invites. You can also create card bases by folding and cutting pieces of cardstock to fit the envelopes you've purchased.

3. Decorate the front of the invitations with pretty patterned paper and an embellishment to personalize the cards. Consider a cluster of stickers that reflect the theme, a photo of your friend standing by the baby's crib, a heartfelt quote about motherhood, some dimensional chipboard accents in traditional baby shapes (like rattles and bottles) or even dried flowers you've carefully attached with liquid glue.

4. Include information about the event inside the card. Print the baby shower's details, such as the time, location, date, theme and RSVP information, on a sheet of coordinating cardstock that you can attach inside the baby shower invites. If you'd rather handwrite, consider buying a rubber stamp with lines where you can write the pertinent details.

5. Complete the customized look when you make baby shower invites by lining the envelopes with the same patterned paper you used on the front of the personalized baby shower invitation. Simply cut a triangle of the paper to fit inside the flap and attach it with double-sided tape.
