Reunion invitation card front
Family reunions are a time to reconnect and share laughter and memories with family members near and far. Gathering everyone for the big day is a big job, and an attractive invitation is the first step. Using your own computer savvy and desktop publishing program you can easily put together a creative card front, and type in all the pertinent party information inside. Here are some ideas to help get the party started.
Vintage Photos
Find a vintage photo of some of the family founders to use for your invitation card front. Search through your own old family albums, or ask other relatives if they have a particularly interesting image of the ancestors to use for the invitation. Once you have the image, scan it on your home scanner or at a photo kiosk with a high resolution to maintain the clarity. Insert it on your blank card template front in your desktop publishing software and size to fit. Type in all the party information on the inside of the invitation to complete.
Photo Collage
Collect photos of all the family members from the last reunion and create a photo collage. Piece it all together on an 8.5-inch by 11-inch piece of paper and then scan the whole thing to produce a digital image. If you are computer savvy, take all your digital images and piece them together into a collage arrangement in a desktop publishing program such as Print Explosion or Microsoft Publisher. Insert the images following the software directions and resize them to be a variety of sizes and shapes. Place closely together to create the collage. Use this image plus a headline like "Jones Family Reunion," to complete the card front.
Names
A collection of family members names in different fonts, colors and sizes makes an eye-catching family reunion invitation card front. Gather your mailing list and be sure to list children and grandchildren that are expected at the reunion. Using a blank card template in your desktop publishing program, type in all the names with just a space separating them. Go back into your text and change each name so that it has its own font, color and size. Create a new text box to lay on top of this one that has bold letters that say, "Jones family reunion." Continue the names on the inside of the card and back of the card of you have too many to fit on page one.
Famous Family Quote
There are a number of quotes from famous people, authors and poets regarding family that you can use for the front of your reunion invitation. Type it in a stylish font on your reunion card front to set the tone for the big day.
Conversely, your family members may also be famous, in the family circle at least, for saying something funny or amusingly profound. Talk to other relatives and gather the "catch phrases" from cousins, aunts, uncles and grandparents and put those in quotations, along with the person's name, on your family reunion invitation card front. On the inside of the card write something like, "Hear it all for yourself on July 11," to tie it all together.
