Many feel a 22nd birthday is somewhat insignificant given the importance and celebration associated with a 21st birthday. However with the right invitations to set the mood for a fun party, there is no reason a 22nd birthday cannot trounce a 21st. Deuces Wild/Double Down
A Las Vegas or gambling theme can work well for a 22nd birthday because it allows the ability to play well off the numbers in a coming-of-age way. The cover should have the title "Deuces Wild" or "Double Down" along with imagery like poker chips, or cards that are tied to the theme. The inside of each invitation could include a real poker chip as a tie in for the guest to bring to the party.
Seeing Double
Another creative way to play off of the twos in the age number is to employ a "hypnosis" or "double-vision" theme to the invitation. The cover could have the hypnosis swirl, and position the font slightly overlapping so the words appear double.
Using the 2s
The 2s can be peppered throughout the wording of the invitation to tie back to the age of the honoree. For example, "be sure 2 bring a dish 2 pass" or "guests are encouraged 2 arrive 2gether."
