Play Pumpkin Ring Toss

Pumpkin ring toss is a great Halloween party game for kids. Play it as a competition or as an individual game to win prizes or candy. This game can be fun and educational because kids can brush up on math skills by adding up their points. Play this game at your next Halloween party. Does this Spark an idea?


Instructions


Set Up


1. Choose four or five good sized pumpkins and carve them out in a variety of goofy, funny or scary faces.


2. Draw points on the pumpkin with a magic marker. The pumpkin that will be the closest to the start line will be worth 10 pointsl; the second closest will be worth 20, the third closest will be worth 30, and so on.


3. Place a lit flashlight in each pumpkin to set a nice Halloween party mood.


4. Make a start line with masking tape or by laying down a strip of rope. How far away the line is from the pumpkins will depend on the age of the players.


5. Provide a hula hoop for kids to throw at the pumpkins.


Playing the Game


6. Have kids stand at the start line. Smaller children should stand closer than the older kids.


7. Give them the hula hoop to throw. Each child gets three turns to hook a pumpkin.


8. Earn points by getting the hula hoop around a pumpkin. The player earns the amount of points written on the pumpkin. If you get more than one, add up your score.


9. Win the game by getting the most points.


10. Give a piece of candy or a prize to the highest scorer or to any child that gets a ring around a pumpkin.
