Book Bingo is a game you can play with your students in the library. If you're a librarian and looking for something different to engage students, Book Bingo is a great solution to bringing more fun to the library.
Instructions
1. Pull outdated library book catalogs or Scholastic Book Club fliers from your files. Choose pictures of books you would like to cut out. Cut about 20 pictures and glue them to a piece of construction paper. Laminate the paper. Make enough of these so that each child in the class will have her own. The laminated pages will serve as Bingo cards.
2. Cut 50 slips of paper and write the title of books on each slip. The titles should correspond to the ones on the laminated Bingo cards.
3. Place the slips of paper in a shoe box. Distribute the laminated bingo cards to your students. Hand out about ten Bingo chips to each student.
4. Pull a slip from the box and read the title. If a student has the particular book title on his card, he must place a Bingo chip on top of the book picture. If a student gets four book titles in a row, he must shout "Bingo" to win the game.
5. Give the winning student a small prize, such as a bookmark or sticker.
