Play Kids Bingo

Bingo is an easy game to play and can be excellent for teaching children letters and numbers. A bingo board consists of a 5 by 5 grid with a number in each. At the top of each column is a letter; there is a "B" over the first, an "I" over the second, then "N", "G" and "O" over each of the last three columns. The object of the game is to have 5 squares in a row or diagonal called by the leader. In some variations of bingo the board will have one square marked as a "free" square that can be marked at the outset of the game.

Instructions

Playing Kids Bingo

1. Explain the rules of bingo to everyone. There are variations on the rules so it is important for everyone to be on the same page.

2. Announce what the prize is before the game starts so the participants know what they are playing for.

3. Draw the first number and announce it clearly. The rest of the players should mark the spot on their bingo board if they have the number that was called.

4. Continue calling numbers until someone has a bingo. Be sure to keep track of what numbers have been called so any bingos can be verified.

5. Give the prize to the winner and have everyone clear off their boards. Start the process over (steps 2-4).
