Play Scrabble Online With Real People

The board game Scrabble can now be played online on Facebook and games website Pogo. Just as with the original version, you get a rack of seven letter tiles and must use these to form words on the board. You earn bonus points for placing tiles on certain squares, and get a 50-point "bingo" bonus for using all seven tiles in one turn. You can play these games online against friends or random opponents.

Instructions

1. Sign up for an account at Pogo or Facebook and search for the Scrabble software on the site.

2. Start the application. On Pogo, you will be matched up against opponents of similar skill levels. On Facebook, you can pick a friend or a random opponent to play against and set criteria for the game.

3. Drag tiles onto the game board using your cursor and place them in the appropriate locations.

4. Press the "Play" button to play your word and earn a score for your turn. If your word is not in the official Scrabble dictionary, neither site will let you play the word. (There are no challenges in the online versions of Scrabble.)

5. Press "Exchange" on Pogo or "Swap" on Facebook to exchange some of your tiles for new tiles.

6. Choose "Pass" on Pogo or "Skip" on Facebook to skip your turn.

7. Hit "Mix Up" on Pogo or "ABC" on Facebook to move the tiles around to help you form words.

8. Look up words on either site by clicking on "Dictionary." You can type in the word and see if it is allowed.
