Make guests thirsty for a tropical drink with a well-worded luau invitation.
Hosting a luau, complete with tiki torches and tropical drinks, is a creative way to celebrate a bride’s upcoming wedding. A themed bridal shower helps guide the shower hosts, from the food to the decorations. The bridal shower invitation also should reflect the theme of the occasion--after all, guests might want to come in colorful sundresses and leis for a luau.
Instructions
1. Start the invitation with a creative phrase or poem that relates to the theme. For example, you can say "Join us for a bridal shower, Hawaiian style, to honor Mary Beth." Or compose a clever poem that clues guests in to the theme, such as "Come enjoy a tropical drink and a colorful lei as we celebrate Jenny’s big day."
2. Give the date and time of your luau on the next lines--for example, "Saturday, May 14, 2011, at 2:30 p.m."
3. Identify the location and address. Here you can get creative and add luau wording. For example, "Say aloha! at Macy Rogers' House, 11 Church Street, Tampa, Florida."
4. Use luau-themed wording to ask guests for a response. For example, you can write, "Are you ready for a tropical cocktail? Let Rhonda know by May 1. 555-555-2413."
5. Include the bride’s registry information at the bottom of the invitation. You can write something as simple as "Melissa is registered at House and Home and More." Or you can ask for a tropical twist on gifts to fit in with the theme: "Bring Stacy a tropical gift for her to use on her honeymoon."
