Play Dm7 On The Ukulele

Tenor 4-string ukulele

The ukulele is a unique instrument. Though it is very popular in Hawaii, the ukulele actually originated in Portugal. It was introduced to Hawaiians by the Portuguese when they migrated to Hawaii. Since then, the ukulele has undergone many changes in wood, color and sound. The Dm7 or D minor 7 chord is most commonly played in the key of Dm. When you're playing in the key of Dm, the Dm7 will normally follow the Dm chord. Seventh chords are used to bring a higher pitch to the chord.

Instructions

1. Hold the ukulele neck near the string spacer. Keep it between your left index finger and left thumb. Hold under the center of the ukulele body in your right hand, placing your right arm over the front of the instrument, near the strings.
