The Internet provides many sources to create cheap invitations.
Printing and design companies can produce invitations for birthday parties, graduations, weddings and other important occasions. However, the cost of ordering custom invitations can sometimes get too expensive for a particular occasion or budget. Nowadays, Internet users can save money by using online services to make invitations. Users can select from and edit existing designs and add customized text to online invitations. The user can then print out the invitations and mail them to friends and family without the usual cost of expensive design and printing services. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
Invitationland
1. Open the Invitationland home page (see Resources). You may use this website to create free online invitations of various occasions and print them out from your computer. The paid service allows you unlimited access to additional designs and invitation software. As of 2010, the fee is $4.99 for a month and $9.99 for a year, payable by PayPal.
2. Select a category on the left and then browse and choose a design. Click on your chosen design again to get to the editing page. Change the text in the "Edit Text" tab. Use the "Colors/Font" tab to modify the look of the invitation.
3. Choose to create one, two or four cards per page in the "Create PDF" tab. Click the "Create PDF" button. You then click on the printer image at the top of the PDF to print out your new online invitation.
Printable Online
4. Open the Printable Online home page and click "Register" to create a new account (see Resources). Log in after creating your account.
5. Click "Create New Card." An editing page opens. You can select an invitation background by using the various image links at the top. Click on the "T" image on the left to enter the text. You have several other image links to customize your invitation. Click on the disk image and "OK" to save the card. Click on "My Account."
6. Click "View" to open up a web page with your invitation. Print out the invitation by selecting "Print" in the "File" menu at the top of your browser.
American Greetings
7. Scroll over the "printables" link on the American Greetings home page (see Resources). Select the occasion for your invitation. You may then select the existing card designs for that page. Click on the "get started" link after choosing your design. A window will then open for editing your invitation.
8. Choose the "edit text" function to change the text. You may also add text or even art with the other options in the editor. Click the "join now to print" button. Another window opens to allow you to join American Greetings.
9. Sign up to the service. As of 2010, the fee is $19.99 for a year, payable by credit card or electronic check. However, you can take a free trial and cancel after printing your invitations if you do not want to pay for this service. Click "continue printing" after signing up and follow the instructions to print your invitations.
