Few people ever have the opportunity to walk down the red carpet.
Few people are lucky enough to ever walk the red carpet heading to an award show or film premiere, passing a throng of persistent paparazzi. However, you can create an authentic red-carpet feeling at a party of your very own, so you and your guests experience feeling every bit as elite and special as Hollywood royalty. Planning a red carpet party that feels authentic requires that you get a hold of specific decorative and atmospheric elements.
Instructions
1. Contact a venue for your event, and reserve the space. A red carpet party, frankly, won't have that authentic feeling if it's at your house, a place where most of your friends have likely been before. Reserve a ballroom at luxury hotel, or rent out an old movie theater or a comparable space.
2. Rent a red carpet, or make your own by visiting a carpet store and purchasing a long, narrow panel of carpet that your guests can walk on when they're entering your party.
3. Rent velvet ropes to put on either side of the red carpet. Contact friends or local photographers to stand outside the velvet ropes and take flash photos of guests as they arrive and walk down the red carpet.
4. Contact a gourmet caterer, and order an array of appetizers and rich finger foods. Indulge in items like fine, imported cheeses and caviar. A red carpet party must feel authentic, and thus, unless you're a gourmet chef, home cooking and other dishes you make yourself are simply inappropriate. A caterer will also be able to provide the elegant serving dishes and silverware necessary for a red carpet party.
5. Rent a champagne fountain for the corner of your refreshment table to create a sophisticated effect. Hire a band to serenade your guests with live music.
