Graduation from sixth grade often involves caps and gowns.
The right plan of attack for a sixth-grade graduation party can ensure its success. For many sixth-grade students, the graduation ceremony represents them leaving elementary or primary school behind in pursuit of higher education. An exciting but sometimes scary time, it calls for a celebration. Building on a few basic plans, the parents or guardians of a graduate can throw a party the youngster will remember for years to come.
Instructions
1. Make a guest list for the event. Decide on the number of classmates of the graduate to invite according to available space and budget. The students' parents should be included. Invite other people in the graduate's life including grandparents, siblings and other close relatives.
2. Plan the date and time. Base the time of the party on the time of the graduation. Take into consideration that multiple parties will occur the day of graduation. Waiting until the following weekend may mean more guests attending.
3. Select a theme. The theme of the party needs to reflect the occasion. "Moving on Up" or "One Step Closer" are appropriate. "Halfway There" reflects the student making it half-way to senior year.
4. Choose invitations appropriate for the party. The invitations should reflect the selected theme for the party. Making the cards at home can assure this is accomplished.
5. Order or prepare foods for the age level. The party is for a graduating sixth-grader. The food selected should reflect this. Tacos, pizza, burgers or fries are probably preferable over fancier selections.
6. Decorate using decorations appropriate to the theme. Graduation mortar boards and rolled paper diplomas are good for any graduation party decoration. Add "6th" to the pieces with marker or paint to specialize for the occasion.
