Plan a Tropical Themed Wedding on a Budget
A tropical themed wedding can be done easily and inexpensively, without having to actually have the wedding in the tropics. The secret is all in the little details and decor that you can get at any party store. With the right location, decorations and little touches you can have your guests feeling like they have just had a little tropical vacation themselves.
Instructions
1. First you'll want to plan to have your wedding in the summer when the sun is shining and the temperature is warm. Find a judge or clergy that will agree to marry you on a beach to really give it a tropical feeling. Check with the town or city to see if you need a permit.
2. Choose summer type dresses with a tropical print for the bridesmaids and shirts to match for the groomsmen. You can purchase inexpensive flower leis for your bridal party and guests to wear for the day. You can even wear a headpiece made of tropical flowers with a small veil attached.
3. At the reception have centerpieces made of a large sea shell with some tropical flowers coming out of the open end. Pass out leis to the rest of your guests and don't forget in the wedding invitation to ask guests to wear something tropical. You can also have the wedding cake decorated with orchids and can even use them as the cake top.
4. For fun at the reception have a few grass skirts that guests can put on over their clothes for dancing. Request some Hawaiian music to be played by the band or DJ.
