Snap out of the cold weather blues with a Winter Wonderland party. Make your home warm and inviting with candles, twinkling lights, warm drinks and hot food. Here's all you need to know. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Determine a date. Everybody must attend at least one party during the holidays. Make sure the date you choose doesn't conflict with some other event.
2. Send the invitations. Whether you choose email or regular mail, be sure to give your guests plenty of time to respond. This is a busy season and party dates fill up fast, so send your invitations three to four weeks in advance.
3. Plan your menu. A winter wonderland is white, right? Stick with that theme and plan to buy or make foods that are predominately white. Check out the epicurious.com website for some great "winter white" food ideas.
4. Decide what beverages to serve. Make them warm. Hot Apple Martinis or drinks made with hot apple cider and mulled wines are great choices.
5. Select music. Choose a mix of the upbeat for dancing and holiday classics for sing-alongs.
6. Buy decorations. Make it sparkle. Buy twinkling lights and string them around the room and accent the winter white with sparkling blues and silvers. Put candles wherever you can for added sparkle and coziness.
