Gift baskets are a welcome sight on any occasion. They can be made for any event and themed for any purpose. Whether you chose to make one yourself, or hire someone to create it for you, putting together ideas for themed baskets can be time consuming unless you remember to design your basket for the person you are giving it to. Sports or Activities
Gift baskets should be tailored or personalized to the person receiving it and can include anything that interests that person. Whether it is being given to a man or woman, if the recipient is interested in sports or outdoor activities, create a basket reflecting those interests. For example, someone who enjoys camping will love a basket filled with camping supplies, dry packed foods, and tools or games that are easily placed in a backpack. Someone who likes fishing might love a tackle basket filled with lures, nets, and even a fishing rod. This is true of any sport. Include books about their hobby or passes to the local park, golf course or lake.
Pet Lovers
If your friend considers his pet to be his oldest child, create a basket just for him. Add items that reflect the kind of pet or animal he loves, such as a mug with his 4-legged friend's picture on it and matching containers of biscuits for human and animal alike. Include toys and a soft blanket meant just for the pet, or a card that gives the "parent" free pet-sitting at your home so he can get away for a weekend without worrying about his "baby."

Combine chocolate from around the world to create a chocolate lover's dream
Food baskets are always appreciated and can easily be tailored to conform with someone's special addictions. Fill a large coffee cup with specialty coffees and biscotti. Create a basket for your favorite wine lover that includes new and unusual wines for her to taste, along with glasses and reusable corks. Create an ethnic food theme by placing items needed to make some favorite foods, whether Italian or Asian. Chocolate from around the world in all it's forms also makes a great basket. Include hot chocolate mix, chocolate wine from Holland and chocolate stir sticks for coffee to really give your favorite choco-holic a taste of decadence.
