Make hand made name tags using simple supplies from your local craft store
Certain occasions call for the use of name tags. Be creative and go way beyond boring peel and stick name tags that start with "Hi, My Name is" and give your name tags some decorative flair. By utilizing a few simple artistic mediums that are readily available at craft stores, you can make name tags that pop and that serve as great conversation starters at the same time.
Paper Crafts
Visit the scrapbooking or card making aisle at your local craft store. Choose a selection of fun papers, markers and embellishments, like stickers and rhinestones, to create one of a kind name tags. Write each person's name on card stock paper, or purchase letter stickers, which are available in these same aisles, and spell out each person's name. Attach each name tag to its rightful owner using double sided tape.
Craft Foam Letters
Craft foam shapes are not just for kids---they come available in different types of assortments including letters of the alphabet. Create jumbo name cards from card stock paper and spell out everyone's name using the craft foam letters. Glue them to the card stock and attach the name tags with safety pins.
Double up on your craft foam stock by buying larger pieces depicting animals or shapes and adding the letters to spell out the names on these rather than on card stock. Use glue for attaching the foam pieces to one another, and safety pins for attaching to each person.
Craft Dough
Purchase several blocks of craft dough, such as Fimo, and beads or craft jewels at your local craft store. Cut and shape the dough into name tag-size rectangles. Press the beads or jewels into the dough to spell out each guest's name, and then bake on a low temperature according to package instructions. Be sure that the beads and jewels are safe for clay baking projects. Purchase pin backings at the craft store and affix them to the back of the baked and cooled name tags with hot glue.
