Make Your Own Guitar Party Favor

Plan to have guitar party favors for your music-loving friends or at your music-themed party. Make guitar party favors in a variety of ways and add your own creativity to the mix. Plan out a budget to see what guitar-related devices you can afford. Gather supplies such as mint tins, guitar picks and string, capos and sheet music ahead of time. Get out some ribbon and a pair of scissors to make the party favors a little more decorative. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

Mint Tin Guitar Party Favors

1. Gather as many mint tins as you can find, one for each guest. Purchase new tins from a grocery store if you don't have any sitting around empty at home. Empty the tins of the mints inside. Dust out the inside of the tin of any debris left from the mints.

2. Line the tin with a guitar polishing rag. Polishing rags can be purchased online or at your local guitar store. Look for a size that will fit inside the tin and allow a bit of room for other items. Consider cutting the cloths in half if they are too large.

3. Add one or two guitar strings to each tin on top of the polishing rag. Keep the strings coiled in order to make them fit and preserve the strings.

4. Place two or three guitar picks on top of the strings.

5. Close the tin. Affix a label to the top cover of each tin with each person's name. Pre-print the labels from your computer or hand-design them with colored pencils or markers.

Capo & Music Favors (More Expensive)

6. Buy one capo per person attending your party. Make sure to keep your receipts so you can return any unclaimed capos after the party is over.

7. Print one sheet of music per person. Take songs that you wrote, the people attending the party wrote, old love songs, classical music, new songs or any combination thereof. Make sure to print the first page of each song so the title and composer are showing. Mix it up to make it more fun and creative. For smaller, more intimate parties, consider printing up songs that are specific to each person for a personal touch.

8. Wrap the capo in the piece of sheet music and secure with clear tape.

9. Take ribbon and curl with a pair scissors and add to the package to make the party favor seem like a gift. This is optional, of course.

10. Label each party favor for each person attending. Make certain if the music was specifically chosen for each attendee to do this as you are wrapping to avoid mix-ups.
