Make Your Own Printable Invitations

Printable invitations are invitations that can be personalized and printed from your printer. A printable invitation gives the maker options for creating authentic invitations with a personal touch. Creativity is no limit with printable invitations. The creator has the option to use various templates, clip art and fonts. Printable invitations can be printed within seconds for smiles that last a lifetime.

Instructions

1. Create or download a template. A template can be created with desktop publishing software or by creating a guide using predetermined measurements you set. For example, if you want your invitations to be 5 inches by 7 inches, create an invitation within those parameters to create your own template.

2. Copy and paste clip art from clip art software or websites offering free images. Copy and paste can be accomplished by finding the image you want and clicking the right side of the mouse. Select the "Copy" feature and move your cursor to the area of the template in which you would like to paste the piece of art. Right mouse click in the desired field and select the "Paste" feature. This will apply the piece of art in the designated area.

3. Choose the desired font. Optional fonts are available with any word processing program by clicking "Edit" and selecting "Font." At this point, you can pick a font style.

4. Create an area for date, time, location and RSVP information. This area informs your guests of the time and date you desire their presence, as well as, the location. "Répondez s'il vous plaît" or RSVP as its more commonly referred to, means you should contact the host to confirm whether you will attend or not.

5. Print your invitation. Invitations can be printed on a variety of decorative or plain paper. Options might include vellum paper, metallic paper or card stock.
