Stuff Envelopes For Graduation Announcements

Stuff Envelopes for Graduation Announcements

When students graduate from high school or college, announcements are commonly sent to invite friends and family to the formal ceremony or a graduation party, or are used simply to inform people of the event. The official announcement contains several parts that should be assembled in a specific order to follow the rules of etiquette and to create a professional presentation.

Instructions

1. Address the outer envelope (larger of the two envelopes) with the recipient's name and address using blue or black ink. Use the recipient's full name ('Mr. and Mrs. John T. Doe') and do not use abbreviations in the address.

2. Address the upper-left-hand corner of the same envelope with your name and return address.

3. Write the informal name of the recipient on the smaller envelope ('Uncle Bill'). Include all of the names of the recipient who live at that address or use 'Guest' for those with no other family member living in the home. 'Janie & Guest')

4. Lay the tissue paper over the formal announcement card. Add the separate party invitation card on top of the tissue paper, if applicable.

5. Place the announcement in the smaller envelope. The front of the announcement should face the front of the envelope. If the announcement card is folded, lace the folded edge into the envelope first.

6. Seal the small envelope and place in the outer envelope with the front of the small envelope facing the back of the larger envelope.
