Save Money On Hotels

Saving Money at a Hotel is easier than you realize

It is not difficult to save money on hotels. You are never forced to pay the listed shelf price. You may be surprised to know that a hotel room or suite can be cheaper than staying at a campground or renting a cabin or chalet or many other travel accommodation options. Here are some tips on save money on hotels while traveling or in your own city.

Instructions

1. Decide when and where you would like to go. Consider visiting your destination and staying in hotels during off season. For example, summer destinations will offer travelers discounts during the winter months to attract more guests.

2. Stay two or more nights at the same hotels. Often this can result in savings or a rebate in the form of cash back or a gas card. If nothing else, you will save on the hotel's booking fees, as they are the same for one night as they are for two or more nights. Save even more money if you book seven or more consecutive nights at the same hotel.

3. Seek coupons and discounts for hotels in the Entertainment coupon Book or a similar book. Often you can save money by presenting the card which is similar to a credit card format, attached to the front cover of the Entertainment Book to hotels even if you do not own it. There is an index of hotels with date and time restrictions in the Entertainment Book.

4. Book hotels with a flight or as part of a tour package. You can save a substantial amount of money at many hotels. You can stay in a 5 star hotel at a 3 star price.

5. Visit various travel websites when trying to save money on hotels. Booking hotels through one of them can save substantial money off the list price. This is especially helpful for high demand tourist vacation destinations and in the busy tourist seasons in many areas. There are links in the resources section to help you.

6. Search for gift cards for hotels on eBay or craigslist.com and purchase those at a discount. There can be a few listings for many hotels, including well known hotel chains.

7. Join a frequent visitor club at hotels. Hotel guests receive free or discounted visits and perks based on the number and frequency of past stays at hotels. For example, stay five nights at some hotels and you will receive a sixth night free.

8. Sign up for email lists such as TripAdvisor that list and rate hotels and deals. You can save quite a bit of money if you stay at hotels during the specified dates.

9. Use your travel club card such as AAA when you book hotels either online, by phone or in person. You could save 10 percent or more off posted hotel room rates.
