Make Luau Theme Name Tags

Make Luau Theme Name Tags

Making luau themed name tags is a fun way to complement your luau party. The name tags can double as party favors, if they include an extra element, such as your guest's Hawaiian names. They can also double as an invitation, if you write their name on the front and your party details on the back. If you go this route, include a note on the invitation side, such as "please wear your name tag to the party." Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Decide on a shape or theme for the name tags, or create multiple different designs. For example, palm trees, sea shells, pineapples, coconuts, orchids or any other shape that invokes thoughts of an Hawaiian luau.

2. Lightly trace the outline of your shape directly onto the cardstock or craft foam that you're using. Use stencils if you aren't comfortable drawing the shapes free-hand.

3. Cut out the shapes with a pair of clean, sharp scissors. If your design includes multiple pieces, keep the pieces grouped together in a manner that prevents you from confusing or losing any pieces.

4. Use a fancy pen, paints, glitter or other decorative way to write your guests names. Decorate the name tag with small novelty charms, ribbon, tissue paper or other decorative accessories that will contribute to a one-of-a-kind outcome.

5. Glue the name tag together with hot glue if there are multiple pieces to your design, or if you are including small charms or other accessories.

6. Attach the safety pin or glue a pin to the back of the name tag so guests can pin them to clothing. Or, you could punch a hole in the top of the name tag and use ribbon to wear it like a necklace or attach it to something, such as a lei.
