Many brides choose to eliminate extra expenses by doing some of the wedding preparation themselves rather than paying vendors or planners. One such detail that a bride can take care of herself is the invitations. While this is an excellent economic decision, taking on more responsibility can add to your stress load. However, there are now software programs on the market that will allow you to design and print your own invitations. With creative vision, invitation software and time, you can effectively eliminate a major cost by making your own invitations.
Instructions
1. Request samples of wedding invitation card stock from a local supplier. Choose a color and texture of paper--there are many varieties of card stock.
2. Set your price limit for invitation software and research software available online. Download trial versions of wedding invitation software within your price range.
3. Write down exactly what you want to say on the invitation. Look up sample invitations online to give yourself a model. Design multiple invitation formats on your trial software programs and print the three you like the most on the sample card stock. You should now have three rough samples of invitations to choose from.
4. Show your three samples to your fiance. Purchase the software associated with the sample you like best, as well as the card stock you have chosen once you have agreed on a design. Order at least 20 more cards than you need in case you make a mistake or want to experiment further.
5. Print your invitations, allowing plenty of time for this task. Consider decorating your invitations creatively with dried flowers or ribbon.
