Plan An Indoor Pool Party

In some parts of the country you may be lucky enough to enjoy pool activities all year long, but for those who aren't, you can still plan a great party as long as you have access to an indoor pool. When you don't have to concern yourself with rain, snow or even excessive heat, you and your guests can concentrate on having a full day of fun, out of the sun. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

Have Fun at an Indoor Pool Party

1. Find an indoor location for your party. Check out clubs or community centers that may rent out their facilities to the public. Some hotels also rent out their pool areas for special pool party weekends that include use of the pool and hotel stays.

2. Decorate the pool area to resemble the great outdoors. Bring in beach chairs, umbrellas, inflatable rafts and beach balls, along with fake palm trees if space allows.

3. Opt for foods that don't require on-site preparation. Serving tables can be up with portable chafing dishes to keep foods warm and ice chests to keep perishables and drinks cold.

4. Designate a specific area for a bar if you will be serving alcoholic beverages. If you aren't going to have a bartender, then set out the liquor and mixers that you will be serving. If you are having beer or wine coolers, make sure that you keep them icy cool by using an ice chest or a large galvanized pail. You should also provide a blender if you plan to serve blended drinks.

5. Bring in a portable stereo that is loud enough to provide music for your pool party. To prevent the chance of shock, make sure all electronics are far from water.

6. Provide extra towels and bathing suits for those who don't have their own. No host wants to see guests sidelined because they had a momentary memory lapse.

7. Make sure that your chosen location has sufficient restrooms and changing areas for your guests.
