Ideas For A Teen Coed Birthday Party

Teenage birthday party

Every teenager wants to have the coolest birthday party bash. The teenage years are when birthday parties go from all-girl or all-boy sleepovers to parties that bring together both girls and boys. With a little preparation and organization, you will find a number of ways to throw a fun coed birthday party for a teen. Does this Spark an idea?

Dance the Night Away

There is nothing more fun than getting a group of teens together, turning the lights down and blasting the day's hottest music. Dance parties can be inexpensive to host. A "dance floor," can simply be a section of concrete roped off with balloons. Be sure to have plenty of snacks and refreshments because exerting large amounts of energy can work up an appetite, especially among teens. There is no need for a DJ because teenagers can burn CDs with their favorite play list. According to SonomaFamilyLife.com, chaperons are necessary to ensure that the guests behave, but this does not mean that a parent has to be sitting on the dance floor. Parents can nonchalantly observe the dance floor from afar.

Hawaiian Luau

Take your teenager's next birthday party to the beach. A Hawaiian Luau-themed party will provide entertainment for girls, boys and adults alike. Prepare Hawaiian specialty snacks, like fruits with sweet dipping sauces, to go along with refreshing, fruity beverages. Decorate the back yard or venue with tiki torches and sand. Place a lei around the neck of each guest that arrives. Doing the "limbo" to Hawaiian music is a fine way to get the energy flowing. The teenagers can hang out listening to Beach Boy hits. Swimming and a slide are potential additions to the luau depending on the weather and the time of the party.

Pool Party Extravaganza

A pool party may not be the most distinctive teenage event, but there are ways to make it stand out from the rest. Organize a list of games to play for prizes instead of just letting kids swim. Ask everyone to bring a squirt gun for a water war. Purchase a few beach balls to do a variety of relays. If possible, fill a few baby swimming pools with sand and host sandcastle-building contests. Competition always fares well among teenagers. Beach or pool-related prizes also are a hit. Find an adult to barbecue hamburgers and hotdogs, or the guest of honor's favorite poolside snack.
