Texas A&M University has graduated thousands of students since it opened in 1876, and A&M students, or Aggies, are traditionally filled with pride. Celebrate an Aggie's graduation by adding plenty of school touches to his party. Ask the graduate to provide some of his banners, T-shirts, buttons or other mementos with the school logo to scatter throughout the party.
Highlight Reel
Texas A&M students are famously passionate about sports, particularly their football team. Put together a highlight reel of Aggie sports triumphs from the past four years to show at the party. A&M has a rivalry with the University of Texas at Austin, so include plenty of clips from any victories the school has had against this team. Ask a videographer or a computer-savvy friend to edit clips together, then play the final DVD on a loop where guests can watch it and cheer.
Cake
The school's colors are white and maroon, and decorating a cake with these colors will be easy. Order a cake with white frosting, and ask the baker to pipe on maroon details such as flowers. Ask her to write a message on top in maroon frosting. You might have her write a simple "Go A&M" or "Congratulations to Michael, 12th Man Class of X!" The "12th Man" is how A&M refers to its student body.
Decor
Continue the white-and-maroon theme by decorating the tables with these colors. Buy glass vases along with white and red acrylic paint. Paint the A&M logo onto each vase. Cover the tables with deep red tablecloths, white flower petals and white place settings. Arrange bouquets of white flowers such as white hydrangeas or daisies in vases on each table. You might also use white tablecloths and maroon flowers such as deep red roses or cosmos.
Reveille
Incorporate the school's mascot, which is a collie dog named Reveille. Bake cookies in the shape of dogs, and frost them to look like a collie by using both white and brown frosting to decorate them. Serve the cookies at the party or wrap them in plastic bags to give as favors. You might also buy miniature stuffed collies to place throughout the party. Hang signs around each dog's neck that congratulate the graduate on her accomplishments.
