Toddlers are typically easy to please, so there is no need to spend a lot on their birthday party. By being a little creative, you can create a festive birthday party environment with lots to do without spending a lot of money.
Use What You Already Have
With an endless number of toys, you can decorate with what you already own. Choose your child's favorite toys and use them as decorations for the party. Use toy cars to decorate the tables or a compilation of the themed toys as centerpieces. Use bigger toys, such as the Big Wheels or an over-sized doll house to designate the present or cake area. You can even hang toys from chairs, ceilings and hooks. Using what you already own is not only inexpensive, but also good for the environment.
Help From the Guests
Get your guests in on the execution of your toddler's birthday party. To contribute to theme you have picked, ask your guests (and their children) to bring an item that goes along with your theme. For example, if your child loves animals ask each guest to bring their favorite animal toy to share at the party. You can even have each child, or their parent, tell a true or fictional story about the animal they brought. Or if your toddler loves books, ask each guest to bring their favorite book to share during story time at the party. These types of activities won't cost you anything and will be enjoyable to your toddler and his friends.
Choose the time of day wisely
Have a party in the late morning or late afternoon and you won't have to provide a meal. Offer simple snacks and beverages but don't make the food a focal point of the party. You can even simply have cake and ice cream in the late afternoon and guests won't expect anything more.
