Breathtaking highlands, gorgeous beaches and bustling cities make Scotland a wonderful vacation destination. With such varied landscapes and climate, it can be a challenge to pack for a trip to Scotland. Follow these steps to ensure you will have everything you need.
Instructions
1. Learn to dress in layers. Sudden changes in the weather are common in Scotland. Even the summer months can suddenly get quite chilly. Rain is very common, so bring a waterproof jacket or parka with a hood. Pack warm clothing if you are planning a trip during the winter months. You'll need a warm hat, gloves and a winter coat.
2. Take comfortable, waterproof walking shoes or boots if you plan on walking or climbing in the hills. If you have to buy new shoes, break them in before your trip.
3. Bring inspect repellent, sunglasses and sunscreen during the summer months, especially if you're going to spend a lot of time on the beach.
4. Take a small backpack or bag if you're planning on making frequent walking or climbing trips. You can use the pack to carry along any items you may need and bring extra clothing if you are venturing into higher altitudes.
5. Remember to pack your camera and extra film or memory cards.
6. Purchase a plug adapter if you are taking any American electrical appliances. Or plan on buying an adapter once you reach Scotland.
7. Pack all of your essential documents and carry them with you at all times. You'll need your passport, identification or driver's license, money, credit cards and prescription medications.
